BDS Mechanical originally started in Roma, Queensland, Australia but has now expanded to over 600,000 km² of Queensland.
The Beginning
BDS mechanical repairs started operation in early 2011. Owner Ben Sullivan was approached to manage and maintain a large mining fleet. Immediately seeing an opportunity to start a business, Ben took on the roll. Over time, BDS has grown into the successful business it is today.
Employee Growth
In 2012, BDS began supplying fitters and mechanics to the resource sector and quickly found that there was a demand for good quality mechanics to service this industry.
Workshop Expansion
In 2016 BDS backed-up the field service units with workshops in key locations across QLD and a mobile fleet for WA. BDS then began working on supply to the NT.
BDS opened workshops in Bundaberg and Roma.
Workshop Expansion
After the success the Bundaberg and Roma workshops brought, BDS opened up 8 more workshops in Queensland during this 2 year period: Chinchilla, Toowoomba, Moura, Moranbah, Maryborough, Gold Coast, Mackay and Middlemount.

BDS continues to expand across Queensland even further, opening up workshops in Townsville, Gladstone, Doomadgee, Rockhampton, Gracemere, Cairns, Kowanyama and Miles.
Growing Success
BDS Mechanical Repairs has now expanded to over 600,000 km² of Queensland with 22 fixed workshops and 160 field service units. BDS has a large fleet of service vehicles. This fleet is ever-growing to meet industry demands and needs.
BDS Mechanical's newest workshop is located in Cloncurry that will act as our supporting hub to our Doomadgee, Normanton and Kowanyama sites.
We are now currently providing labour hire and field service in Perth, WA with a workshop coming soon!

Ben Sullivan is a qualified mechanic/fitter with over 20 years experience of working with everything from heavy diesel mining equipment to small engined trucks, from general servicing to major rebuilds.
Ben has been involved in field service for most of his career, fault finding and performing day to day repairs. He has a broad range of experience that also covers: air Conditioning, auto electrics and hydraulics
Ben has also kept up to date with technology and diagnostic systems and through BDS offers a very wide range of diagnostics which includes CAT SIS, CAT ET, G-SCAN, JALTEST, DETROIT, SCANIA, ALLISON, EATON and others for most machinery brands that normally would involve having to rely on the dealer.
BDS Mechanical Cairns and Maryborough Workshops are offering a $70 A/C System Inspection. From gas pressures and radiant coolant levels to drive belt and cabin filter conditions, we’re here to ensure your vehicle is running smoothly.
BDS Mechanical Gold Coast is now providing labour hire and field servicing to the Gold Coast and Brisbane areas.
BDS Mechanical Mackay is offering auto electrical repairs on all vehicle types, logbook servicing starting from $225.50 on all vehicle types, and COI/roadworthy inspections on all vehicle types up to 16500 GVM.
